School-Enterprise Collaboration for Shared Development: Chairman Zhao Wei Receives a Delegation Led by Secretary Lu Zhiwen of Luoyang Institute of Science and Technology

On the afternoon of March 19, a delegation of nine, including Lu Zhiwen, Secretary of the Party Committee of Luoyang Institute of Science and Technology, and Vice President Wang Xinwu, paid a visit to Luoyang Lier Company for an inspection and research tour. Zhao Wei, Chairman of Beijing Lier, Yan Hao, President, and other company leaders extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation.
Accompanied by company leaders, the inspection delegation visited the production lines of Luoyang Lier’s shaped products workshop and electrofused white corundum workshop, conducting on-site inspections of the enterprises’ intelligent manufacturing processes and gaining a thorough understanding of their technological innovation achievements, production and business scale, and industrial development strategy. The delegation highly commended the company’s remarkable progress in areas such as smart manufacturing and R&D.
Following the tour, the two sides held a symposium and exchange in the conference room of Luoyang Lier. Chairman Zhao Wei extended a warm welcome to the delegation from Luoyang Institute of Science and Technology and provided an overview of the company’s production and operations, its core technological strengths, and its future development plans. He expressed his hope that this visit and exchange would serve as a catalyst for further strengthening communication and alignment between the university and the enterprise, unlocking greater cooperation potential, exploring diversified and in-depth new avenues for university–enterprise collaboration, and ultimately achieving mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.
Secretary Lu Zhiwen provided a detailed overview of the university’s basic profile, with particular emphasis on the School of Materials Science and Engineering’s distinctive strengths and achievements in program development, talent cultivation, and cutting-edge research. He stated that the university has consistently adhered to its mission of serving local economic development and expressed the hope of establishing a regular exchange mechanism with leading enterprises in the industry to facilitate resource sharing and leverage complementary advantages.
During the meeting, the two parties engaged in in-depth discussions on core issues such as technological innovation, talent development, and the joint establishment of R&D platforms. They reached a preliminary consensus on collaborative initiatives including the establishment of a corporate-sponsored scholarship, the co-creation of an industry college, and the appointment of distinguished corporate professors. Together, they explored ways to integrate practical business experience into the classroom teaching system, thereby enhancing the relevance and applicability of talent cultivation. In addition, the two sides exchanged views on specific areas of cooperation, such as applying for awards for scientific and technological achievements, facilitating the commercialization and implementation of research outcomes, jointly establishing university–enterprise R&D centers, and sharing instruments and equipment. They agreed to take industry–university–research collaborative innovation as a key lever to support enterprises in upgrading their technologies and to empower high-quality regional economic development.
This exchange has established a solid platform for further communication and collaboration between the two parties. Moving forward, Beijing Lier will maintain close ties with Luoyang Institute of Science and Technology, exploring opportunities for cooperation in areas such as talent development and technological innovation, and jointly promoting the high-quality development of the refractory materials industry.
